Chloe Pohland and Joey Kremer have both had a long-time interest in entering the medical field that led to each enrolling in ��������ϲʹ�������’s first class in the Daniel J. Wukich School of Nursing.

Pohland, a graduate of Greater Latrobe High School, said she was interested in the medical field because her mother is a pharmacist.

“I thought nursing might be where my interest lies because I’d rather get to know patients and spend time with them rather than just be there for a few minutes and diagnose,” she said.

While Pohland originally was looking at a larger school, she found a sense of community at ��������ϲʹ�������.

“At ��������ϲʹ������� you’re more than a number,” she said. “People are all so nice and that means something to me.”

Kremer, a graduate of Shaler Area High School, was recruited to play football at ��������ϲʹ������� and several other universities.

Always interested in the medical field, Kremer had decided to pursue nursing.

“��������ϲʹ������� had the best academically to offer,”Kremer said. “Once I heard they had a new nursing program this year, that made my decision.”
